Thames & Kosmos Junior 1.0

This application serves as a control and programming platform for the robot constructed using the Robotics: Smart Machines - Junior kit from Thames & Kosmos.

The kit offers an engaging introduction to robotics, a multidisciplinary field that integrates principles from physics, engineering, and computer science. It provides children with a fun, interactive, and customizable experience in building and programming their robotic companion.

Once Junior is assembled, programming its movements can be initiated directly via a built-in keypad. Additionally, users can download the complimentary Junior app to access the full range of the robot's functionalities. The app includes a diagnostic feature that allows users to engage in a virtual robot workshop game to troubleshoot any potential assembly issues.

Users have the ability to control Junior's movements and sounds. Interaction options include operating it via remote control or utilizing a device as a gyroscope. The coding interface provided in the app employs an accessible visual format that simplifies the programming process for Junior.

The microcontroller acts as Junior’s "brain," featuring dedicated inputs for LED lights that represent its eyes, a speaker, two motors (for left and right movement), and a battery.
